Have you always wanted to use your computer to serve the web and collaborate with others on work and passion projects but feel unsure about how to proceed? The internet has come a long way since the World Wide Web was made available to the general public three decades ago in August 1991. The landscape has changed considerably, with multiple browsers such as Google Chrome, Safari, Mozilla Fox and Internet Explorer, while Google dominates the search engine market. It is normal for baby boomers or Gen Xers among us, who are not digital natives and have not attended formal IT-related training, such as our 16hrs – ICDL Online Essential (Web & Outlook) course, to experience anxiety when required to use the internet to collaborate online with colleagues, friends and even fellow family members.
With the recent social distancing guidelines brought about by the pandemic leading to business networking sessions, informal work meet-ups, conferences, trade shows and exhibitions being done virtually, there is no better time than now to kickstart your online journey to get confident with using the internet. Being able to leverage on the internet for research and collaboration will allow you to unlock a whole new world of possibilities with higher quality work output and flexible work arrangements.
Imagine yourself browsing the internet with multiple tabs to triangulate ideas, bookmarking all your favourite pages for easy retrieval, communicating with your collaborators on private online communities, downloading files from your online collaborators to work on, blocking unnecessary pop-ups that interferes with your browsing experience, serving sites that are secure to ensure data security, sending and receiving emails with downloadable attachments with ease, organizing your emails to reduce clutter, and scheduling appointments with an online calendar so that you can update and review your calendar anytime as long as you have a WiFi connection. With some training and practice, you can also navigate the web and collaborate online with ease, just like a typical Millennial!
In this 16-hrs ICDL Online Essential (Windows) course, you will be given step-by-step guidance to execute the above mentioned tasks so that you can serve the web and collaborate online with confidence. The possibilities are endless when you can cast aside your doubts and fears to embrace the digital age.
At the end of this 2-days course, you will be able to:
